Appointment with Pediatric Cardiologist

I drove up to Portland today for Séamus' third echocardiogram (ultrasound specific to his heart). His doctor at Doernbecher's is Dr. Shaughnessey (I hope I spelled that right!). She said that everything looks the same as the last two echoes, the pulmonary stenosis is mild, and she's optimistic that he will be able to go home after delivery without needing any immediate treatment or surgery. He'll likely need surgery 4-6 months down the road to repair the defects.


On a side note...he is still breech at 32 weeks... I have a full ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow at the Perinatology department at St. Vincent's Hospital (also in Portland). Hopefully Dr. Lubarsky will have some ideas for getting him turned around in the next 7 weeks (or less!).


We're praying for an easy, but not too quick, labor and delivery and healing for Séamus' heart.
